The new “Halo Plate” from Nitrous supply finally answers the question of how to get maximum fuel/nitrous volume while achieving complete and even distribution to each cylinder. By using a unique stepped venturi design, aided by computer designed orifices, the high pressure of the nitrous is used to actually shear the fuel, optimizing the atomization of the fuel /N2O into the established carburetor air stream. It is this “Halo” that creates a complete and even fuel charge that follows existing airflow, without the interruption that some “nozzle bar” type plates can cause. In addition, the venturi action of this plate increases port velocity without confusing the intake charge.
TECH NOTE
We did our first dyno pulls on the new "halo" 4 hole plate.
Here are the early results.
The engine was a mild 555 inch merlin chevy with 24 degree heads, a single 4500 holley carb and the new HALO 4 hole plate. On our no nitrous pulls, at 6400 rpm, we made a base of 898 hp. We then went back and got the engine ready for some nitrous pulls, backed off some timing, hooked up the bottle checked nitrous pressure and made sure every thing was working. We warmed up the engine purged the nitrous. We then hit the nitrous on this pull and were rewared 1461 hp. That's a 563 H.P. increase!
First time "OUT OF THE BOX" nets 563 H.P. (from a single stage plate!)
We tried 2 other name brand plates that were supposed to make 500 H.P. They both fell way short. This plate was amazingly smooth! These are the first pulls, we realy think this plate will make over 600+ H.P.
